In the past week or so, rumors began to circulate that Daisy Ridley, who portrays Rey in the current Star Wars trilogy produced by Disney, will return for another trilogy. Now, in the past, she herself has stated that her experience with Star Wars has been tough. She has removed herself from social media and stated before that she doesn't necessarily want to be heavily, if at all, involved with Star Wars going forward. Still, that rumor popped up the other day. It was said that Rey will appear in one of the upcoming trilogies in a supporting role. It seems as if Disney's next step in terms of film will be the GoT creators' trilogy, which is said to take place during the time of the old republic.
The other trilogy is Rian Johnson's trilogy. That one is supposed to feature entirely new characters and locations in the Star Wars universe. It is supposed to be geared more towards children (with the other trilogy veering towards adults.) More recent reports indicate that Disney may want Johnson to include some characters from and slight connections to the sequel trilogy though. So, it was easy to conclude that if Rey were to appear in another trilogy, Johnson's would be the one. Alas, sources revealed in the following days that Daisy Ridley is done with Star Wars after the upcoming Episode 9. Sh herself said that Skywalkers and herself will no longer feature in the films after this epic conclusion in December.
So, there you have it. Diasy Ridley is, seemingly, done with Star Wars once she finishes her last bit of work on Episode 9, The Rise of Skywalker. Drop a comment below and tell us how you feel about that? Would you prefer that Rey come back or are you happy about this news?
